• Three day intensive classes: Friday, Saturday and Sunday
• Very small class sizes
• Multiple classes every month
Manos Weaving School works in close connection with Weaving Southwest
and is located at 216 Paseo del Pueblo Norte in downtown Taos.
Weaving instructor Kimberly Hamill encourages creativity in weaving,
emphasizing fun alongside technical excellence. She learned to weave
from Navajo weaver Pearl Sunrise and apprenticed with Rachel Brown
(author of The Weaving, Spinning and Dyeing Book and founder of
Weaving Southwest) for two years.
We offer three-day intensive weaving classes in three subjects:
Beginning Tapestry Weaving, Navajo Style Frame Loom Weaving and
Advanced Weaving Techniques (see descriptions below). They go from
Friday to Sunday, starting at 9 am and ending at 4:30 pm. For
interested students there is a warping workshop on Mondays after
Beginning and Advanced Weaving courses, starting at 10 am and ending
at 4:00 pm.
Cost for the three-day intensive classes is $350. Students can bring
their own yarns or purchase them here in small amounts. Cost for the
one day warping workshop is $125; all yarn and equipment is included.
These classes are intensive. A lot of learning happens in three days
so come well rested!
